Senate Republicans surrendered to Chuck Schumer and the Democrats. The Democrats got everything they wanted - a compromise bill that does not fund ICE or Border Patrol. Democrats held the line. Republicans caved. Senate Majority Leader John Thune scheduled the vote for 2 a.m. - while the nation was sound asleep. That tells you everything about what the Republicans just did. They immediately skipped town without even addressing the Save America Act. There's no other way to interpret what the Senate Republicans have done. They have all but guaranteed massive losses in the midterm elections and they have effectively ended President Trump's America First agenda. I sincerely doubt that Republicans will codify any more of the president's Executive Orders. Every Republican senator who went along with this should face a primary opponent.
