Hymns are the best songs for Sunday morning church services. I know that may be a somewhat controversial statement, and I’m likely in the minority, preferring hymns for the praise and worship portion of service. Many churches have moved away from hymns, choosing more modern, contemporary Christian tunes. However, even though they may be hundreds of years old in some cases, hymns remain as powerful and relevant as ever.

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of fantastic contemporary Christian music songs. However, none of them will ever match the feeling you get whenever you hear the opening notes and lyrics of something like “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art” or “Great is Thy Faithfulness.”

In a clip posted on YouTube, the choir at First Baptist Dallas puts on a powerful, show-stopping performance of “Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!” Even the biggest, most fanatical supporter of contemporary Christian music will wholeheartedly agree that this is a fantastic performance.

However, while the musicians’ performance is noteworthy and deserves to be watched and listened to, the lyrics, like every other hymn, are the most powerful, moving aspect of this six-and-a-half-minute clip. It’s a song of praise and worship about the powerful and mighty God that we all serve.

There are some songs that, no matter how many times you hear them, will never get old and tired. You might be able to recite their lyrics in your sleep, and there are just some tunes that will always be powerful and meaningful. Typically, those songs become special to us, for whatever reason, and take on a lot of meaning.

Likely, everyone has a handful of songs that immediately come to mind. For a lot of people, they will revert to the old hymns. Seriously, how could anyone get their fill of “Victory in Jesus,” "How Great Thou Art,” "Great is Thy Faithfulness” or “Amazing Grace?”

However, another more modern song that has become a classic in Christian music is Chris Tomlin’s “Holy Forever.” It’s a beautifully written and performed song about the power and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. In a clip posted on YouTube, one gentleman, Andre Cavalcante, performs the iconic, memorable tune solely on guitar and does not sing any of the lyrics.

But if you’re thinking, “How could an instrumental cover of ‘Holy Forever’ be any good?” I advise you to listen to this version before judging it. It is absolutely fantastic, even without any of the song’s lyrics sung. This could easily be one of the best covers of this song you’ve ever heard.

 Andre’s version is simply beautiful and powerful. As you listen to his performance on the guitar, you’ll likely add the lyrics yourself.

A young man turned in a sweet rendition of “Graves into Gardens.” The talented little guy’s precious cover of the popular praise and worship song deserves to be listened to multiple times. Watch the short video to hear him sing about the mighty, awe-inspiring power of Jesus Christ.

Life is not always an easy, happy-go-lucky experience. It can often involve one stressful, painful and agonizing situation after another. The hurt and sorrow can and will sometimes push us to the very edge. We may reach the point where we see no hope or end to the suffering and pain in sight.

But we serve a mighty, powerful God capable of much more than we could ever imagine or comprehend. He can inject hope into a seemingly hopeless and lost situation, make a way when there is no path forward, and completely change circumstances. He is still more than capable of performing miracles.

In a clip posted on YouTube, one young man sings a popular song, “Graves into Gardens,” which is about precisely that. When things appear lost, God can come in and turn everything around. While simple and straightforward, the tune’s beautifully written chorus is full of truth about the One we serve.

Nothing is better than You.”

About halfway through the clip, the little guy starts getting assistance from his sister. However, he lovingly and hilariously redirects her efforts, telling her to hold on a second. After he’s done with this song, they will move on to something she wants, “a short one, OK?” He wants to sing this song, apparently without her help.

After that brief interruption from his little sister, the young man continues with his performance, singing the song that is near and dear to the hearts of many.

Jelly Roll joined Brandon Lake for a soul-stirring “Hard Fought Hallelujah” duet. Two incredibly talented musicians sing a powerful, moving version of Brandon’s hit tune. This duet is a must-listen and one you’ll likely want to play multiple times. It is that good!

The world is often a cold, cruel and uncaring place. Sin has utterly wrecked and destroyed it. Living in such an environment can and does make life difficult at times. It can leave you feeling beaten down and as if you don’t have the power and strength to continue. Simply getting through a day can feel like a monumental, impossible chore.

Sometimes, you may not feel like praising and glorifying God while going through trials and hardships. Current circumstances and situations may make that a tough ask. But even during those struggles, God is still faithful, loving and quick to forgive. Christians are called to give Him thanks in all situations. He is still worthy of all praise, glory and honor.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Jelly Roll and Brandon perform “Hard Fought Hallelujah.” The tune is about praising, glorifying and honoring God even during life’s struggles, when doing so may be difficult.

Those beautifully written lyrics perfectly capture real life. Many people often go through trying situations and praising God for that difficulty may feel odd and out of place. But God is still God. He remains on the throne and is still faithful. He will see us through that situation as He has so many times before.

“There’s times when my hands go up freely
And times that it costs, oh-oh
There’s days when a praise comes out easy
Days when it takes all the strength I got”

In addition to the beautiful song’s lyrics, the vocal performances help set this duet apart from many others. With this performance, Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake show that they are some of the most talented and gifted people working in music today.

Some voices feel like a whisper from heaven, as if grace itself settled into the moment and weaved itself around every note of this busker’s stunning rendition of ‘Hallelujah.’ Singing on the streets packed with shoppers and passersby stood Zoe Clarke. Dressed to stay warm in her big puffer jacket and a beanie hat, she strummed her guitar to play the song despite the cold. 

Her performance isn’t something that can be measured in mere notes and chords. There’s a stillness in the way she sings, as if each word comes from her soul before it ever reaches her lips. She sings ‘Hallelujah’ the way it was meant to be sung as a prayer, as a whispered conversation between her and heaven. I love how her voice soars and settles, drawing out every ounce of longing and surrender buried deep in the lyrics.

The song was penned in 1984 by Lenard Cohen but it wasn’t until Jeff Buckley released the song in his 1994 album ‘Grace’ that the song gained traction with listeners. Since then, the song has become a worldwide phenomenon because it's the perfect blend of rock and gospel music. Zoe not only sang every note to perfection stopping shoppers in their tracks–but she gained fans online as well. 

One fan wrote, “It's very rare to see someone do this song justice. That was amazing.” Another viewer added, “That performance was hypnotic. From her command of the guitar to her mesmerizing vocal skills, she’s a musical treasure. I can’t imagine walking through a city and hearing an angel sing. Outstanding talent, young lady. I love Dublin City Today.”

Let this song be a moment of connection between your soul and the Lord. Because sometimes, all we can do is lift up our own broken hallelujahs, knowing that somehow, in the mystery of it all, they are heard. We hope you enjoyed this stunning rendition and that it was a reminder that you are seen, you are known, and even in life’s messiest moments, your hallelujah is still heard.

A worship team’s ‘Nobody Loves Me Like You’ moving performance reminds us that God loves us deeply. Some mornings, it’s easy to believe in the love of God. The sky spills pink and gold, the coffee is warm, and there’s a hush of peace that settles deep in the bones. But then there are the other days—the heavy ones, the ones where the mountains won’t move, the ones where the weight of it all presses hard on the soul.

And yet, even then—especially then—God’s love remains.

The lyrics of Nobody Loves Me Like You are more than just words on a page or notes in a melody. They are like a love letter sung straight from the heart of God. “Morning, I see You in the sunrise every morning. It’s like a picture that You’ve painted for me, a love letter in the sky.”

We’re reminded through worship that He writes His love into the dawn, into the shifting of seasons, into the quiet places where we sit with open hands and weary hearts.

Haven’t we all lived that line? Haven’t we all known the moment when grace rewrote our endings, when mercy stepped in and called us redeemed? Mountains rise, and burdens grow heavy. But we worship the God of the impossible. He’s the One who never leaves, never lets go.

This is the truth we stand on: Nobody loves us like Jesus. No one else fills the cracks in our hearts with such tenderness. No one else lifts our eyes from the dust and sets them on eternity. No one else walks every step, every season, every valley, right beside us.

And so we worship. Not just with songs but with breath, with life, with the everyday choice of faith over fear. Because if He loves us like this—if He paints the sky with reminders and walks beside us through every mountain and valley—how can we do anything but stand in awe?

Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

This man’s beautiful a cappella rendition of ‘I Stand In Awe of You’ will give you chills. Andrew Martin has done it again! He took an old hymn and breathed new life into it, and you would be disappointed. He sang the sounds of bass, tenor, alto, and soprano perfectly. Then he layered the videos over the top of each other, and you can’t help but think you’re listening to a choir perform. Instead, it’s just one man. 

‘You are beautiful beyond description,
Too marvelous for words
Too wonderful for comprehension,
Like nothing ever seen or heard.’

It’s hard to believe it’s only one man singing. Andrew’s voice, resonated through the lyrics of the hymn, echoed the heart of the worship song. The words, “You are beautiful beyond description, too marvelous for words” filled the air, and I felt my own heart resonate with the truth of those words. 

How often do we get caught up in the daily busyness of life? When we’re so busy getting to work taking care of the family, we tend to ignore the quiet longing in our soul to connect with just how magnificent our Creator truly is. Yet, during this song, I was reminded of God’s beauty and wonder—beyond comprehension, more glorious than we can describe.

‘And I stand, I stand in awe of You.
I stand, I stand in awe of You.
Holy God to whom all praise is due,
I stand in awe of You.’

So, in the quiet moments, when you pause to reflect on the goodness and beauty of God, let your heart stand in awe. Let the sound of Andrew Martin’s beautiful voice serve as a reminder that no matter how busy we are or whatever may be happening in our lives, we can still stand in awe of the Holy One.

Isn't that what true worship is? Standing before our Creator, acknowledging His greatness, and allowing ourselves to be moved by the beauty of His presence—knowing that He is both beyond comprehension and ever so near. And in that space, we are forever changed.

Take a moment today as you listen to this song—close your eyes, breathe deeply, and stand in awe. He is worthy of every breath.

The massively popular and talented Christian musician powerfully sings about Jesus Christ’s ultimate sacrifice. Watch the video to hear the beautifully written and performed song.

Without Christ, none of us would have a chance. We would all still be living in sin and shame, destined for hell after our time on Earth comes to an end. It would be an eternity full of pain, hurt and torment. There would have been much weeping and gnashing of teeth.

But sadly, that is an eternity that we all most certainly deserve. The Bible states that we are all sinners, having fallen well short of the glory of God. However, Christ, motivated only by His never-ending and unfailing love for all of humanity, willingly went to the cross, suffering and dying and eventually rising again.

Christ’s painful and agonizing death changed everything for you and me. Because of His sacrifice, we can be forgiven and experience eternal life. We have hope and a future only because of what He did on the cross.

In “Thank You for the Cross,” Tauren sings about Christ’s sacrifice and death on the cross – a death that bridged the gap that sin had caused between God and man.  It’s a lovely song that deserves to be heard and listened to by all.

The song’s chorus, while simple, is so powerful. It’s full of truth, putting into perspective how big of a difference Christ’s death on the cross made for anyone and everyone.

“I thank You, Thank You
Thank You for the cross
I praise You, praise You
Without it, I’d be lost”

As the song mentions, without Jesus Christ, who willingly suffered and died on the cross – treatment and a death that He most certainly did not deserve – we would still be lost, left wondering, destined for an eternity separated from Him. Christ changed all of that.
