Emily Ann Roberts Nails This Dolly Parton Classic

Emily Ann Roberts nails this Dolly Parton classic on The Dailey & Vincent Show. You’ll be convinced she’s the perfect person to cover this song. Play the video to see for yourself!

“Well, I’m from East Tennessee. So I always grew up loving Dolly Parton. I’d go into Dollywood and listening to her music, and this song, especially, is just Dolly-coded as the kids would say these days, you know, everything about it, it just screams Dolly and her personality all over it,” Emily Ann said of the song, “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?” “But I just love how simple the message is. Her songwriting is so inspiring to me because it’s just to the point. That’s why I love this song.”

Emily Ann Roberts’ Dolly Parton cover is a beautiful tribute to the artist. She sings it with style, just like Dolly does, and wears her hair teased and a classically beautiful outfit that looks like something Dolly might have worn herself.
Emily Ann Roberts’ Dolly Parton Cover is Absolutely Full of Talent and Skill

Some of the lyrics to Dolly’s “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?” are:

Do I ever cross your mind?
'Cause you still cross mine
I have a photo of you in my bed
When I look at it, I smell your scent

Dolly Parton first sang “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?” in a duet with Chet Atkins in 1976 on his album. It wasn’t until 6 years later that she released her own solo version of the song she'd written.

Emily Ann does an absolutely wonderful job of singing the Dolly song. It sounds so perfect that I’m convinced that if anyone else besides Dolly was meant to sing it, it’s this talented young country artist. Wouldn’t you agree?

Connie Talbot Stunning 'Happy Together' Acoustic Cover

Connie Talbot's stunning acoustic cover of “Happy Together” will leave you impressed. The Turtles classic is made wholesomely new through Connie’s rendition. It’s a beautiful re-imagining of the classic song.

This isn’t a straightforward cover of The Turtle’s 1967 classic. Connie adds some lyrics of her own, with some help from songwriter Emiy Phillips. Here are a few of the lines they added:

Gotta be you and me
Oh, if heaven can wait,
I'll do the same
I'll be there by the gate

Connie Talbot’s "Happy Together" somehow brings a more morose, somber, and serious tone to the notoriously happy song.

“This interpolation was a different kind of way of writing, and it's been such a fun journey. The original song by The Turtles is one of my favourites, always grateful for incredible music from the past,” Connie said of her cover.

Connie Talbot Does An Excellent Job

As always, Connie does an absolutely wonderful, creative job of singing the song. It is a beautiful rendition that I’m sure anyone who likes the original would love.

Her version gives meaning to the lyrics, which indicate a long-lasting love for someone, and the belief that you’d be nearly incomplete without them. Fittingly, Connie released the song on Valentine’s Day this year.

Connie Talbot’s acoustic version of "Happy Together" allows her voice to take center stage throughout. The subtle guitar backing allows you to fully appreciate the emotion of the UK native’s voice. Each line feels welcoming, relatable, warm, and sincere.

She takes a bright pop song and turns it into something more intimate, but equally enjoyable. She paints nostalgia with a new, lovely perspective. It’s incredible how effortlessly she transforms the song's mood.

It’s easy to tell that it’s a heartfelt cover, and I hope it lifted your mood today!

Band of Young Musicians Dazzle with Jaw-Dropping Journey Cover

A band of young musicians dazzled with their jaw-dropping Journey cover. The gifted group of young men and women showcased their considerable musical talents with a delightful rendition of a tune known and loved by many. Watch the short, but unbelievable clip to hear and see the youngsters perform “Separate Ways” by Journey.

Some bands, regardless of how much time passes, will never be forgotten. Their musical contributions are so vast and beloved that their songs will always be played. Of course, we can all rattle off a handful of bands that most certainly fit into that category. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, The Who, The Eagles and many, many others.

Now, one additional band that is most definitely a classic and loved by many, but not at the level of The Beatles or The Rolling Stones, is Journey. Of course, the song of theirs that first comes to mind whenever they are mentioned is the terribly overplayed and overrated “Don’t Stop Believin’.” I understand people love that song, but there are other tunes in the world, and believe it or not, Journey even had other songs as well, including “Separate Ways.”

In a clip posted on YouTube, a group of youngsters who call themselves The Graystones put on a fabulous and jaw-dropping performance of “Separate Ways.” The amount of talent and skill on display in the four-minute clip is incredibly shocking. We are just not used to hearing kids that young sound that good.

Everyone in the group gives an amazing performance, from the keyboardist to the drummer and the young lady singing lead vocals. However, the kid on guitar steals the show. His solo, which is around the three-minute mark in the clip, will literally cause your jaw to drop.

Even those who are not Journey fans, like me, will be thoroughly impressed with this fantastic performance from a group of kids.

Family Band's Delightful Cover of Dolly Parton's '9 to 5'

A family band has turned in a delightful cover of Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5.” While it doesn’t quite match the original, this one is still plenty of fun and you’ll find yourself returning to it again and again. Watch the short but thoroughly enjoyable clip to listen to this family perform Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5.”

Dolly Parton has been around for decades, thrilling and entertaining crowds with her acting and musical gifts. She has managed to do what few have been able to do: experience a successful and long-lasting career in the entertainment business. While the legendary entertainer has shone brightly on the big and small screens in several roles, most people will always see her as a singer first.

Over the course of her career, Dolly has produced a handful of iconic and classic tunes. “Jolene,” “Here You Come Again, “Coat of Many Colors,” and “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” are just a few of these aforementioned and beloved songs, and those are just the ones off the top of my head. Diehard Dolly fans can likely name many, many more.

However, whenever I think of Dolly Parton, there is one song of hers that immediately comes to mind: “9 to 5.” It’s incredibly catchy; one of those songs that if you hear once, you’ll be singing and humming it the rest of the day. In a clip posted on YouTube, a super-talented band performed what is, in my opinion, her best song.

Not only are these musicians gifted and skilled, but they appear to be having the time of their lives. Dad and his three youngsters are enjoying themselves as they sing and play a truly classic, iconic tune. They are having about as much fun as anyone listening to their wonderful cover.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Teenager's Jaw-Dropping 'Hey Jude' Cover on The Voice

There is always such excitement to see young people with incredible talent for their age. Check out this amazing video of a teenager's jaw-dropping 'Hey Jude' cover on The Voice.

There is an adorable young boy, only 13 years old, standing in front of a global audience with his guitar in hand and a microphone in front of him. He sings “Hey Jude,” and the judges are delighted by his performance. The young man does a great job, but particularly shines when he reaches the bridge and hits a falsetto note so smooth the audience is wowed.

This boy has some surprising vocal runs and keeps the judges excited about the song. He is incredibly entertaining and begins making funny facial expressions as he hits higher notes that make you smile. He has the full choir in the background and shines on the high notes. His ad-libs are exciting.

All the judges stand up and begin dancing and waving their hands as you see the young boy's family tear up in response to his performance. He thanks the audience. The judges love it so much that they start the “nah’s” again. This boy confidently jumps back in and loves every minute of it. You will have a smile on your face as you sing along with him.

The lyrics to this classic song say:

Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her under your skin
Then you'll begin to make it better

This song reminds us to take a second chance. God is the God of second chances with us because of Jesus. May this encourage us today.

“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

Hannah Harper Stuns with Chilling 'Jolene' Cover

Hannah Harper stunned with a chilling cover of “Jolene.” Her rendition of the Dolly Parton classic is one that you will find yourself returning to again and again. Watch the short but delightful clip to listen to Hannah’s lovely and immensely enjoyable performance of “Jolene.”

Dolly Parton is an entertainment legend. She has been delighting audiences everywhere with her talents for decades. Over the years, she has starred in a number of unforgettable roles on the big and small screen, showcasing her acting abilities.

While she is a capable actress, she is best known and beloved for her musical gifts. I’d bet that whenever someone thinks of Dolly, they think of her as a singer first. It’s understandable why this would be the case whenever her name is mentioned. She has so many iconic, classic tunes, including “I Will Always Love You,” “Coat of Many Colors,” “Here You Come Again” and “9 to 5.” But the song most closely associated with Dolly, that tune she is most known for, is, of course, “Jolene.”

In a clip posted on YouTube, Hannah Harper, a former American Idol contestant, covers this Dolly Parton tune, which is near and dear to the hearts of many. Now, anyone singing “Jolene” better bring it, because if they don’t, people are going to rip them apart for a lackluster performance, for destroying a classic and not living up to the high standard Dolly originally set with that song.

However, that is not a worry here. Hannah’s vocal performance is outstanding, and her voice is beautiful as she belts out the lyrics originally written and sung by Dolly. Even the biggest, most diehard Dolly Parton fan will have a difficult time finding something to complain about her “Jolene” cover.

This is easily one of the best “Jolene” performances you’re likely ever to hear. Without a doubt, Dolly, if she were to hear this cover, would most certainly approve.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Josh Groban Stunning Cover of 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight'

Josh Groban has released a stunning cover of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” The popular and incredibly talented singer’s rendition of the beloved Disney classic tune is one that you need to hear, and you will likely find yourself returning to it again and again. Watch the short but awe-inspiring clip to listen to Josh’s powerful, moving rendition of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”

Disney is a company known for many things. Likely, whenever that name is uttered, most people immediately get images of their legendary theme parks that pop up in their minds. For many children, Disney World in Central Florida is a dream destination.

However, in addition to the parks, rides and long lines, many are also familiar with the company’s beloved, classic films. Movies such as “Cinderella,” “Pinocchio,” “Snow White” and “Toy Story” span generations, bringing families together and putting smiles on faces.

Despite its impressive catalog of films, arguably, Disney’s most iconic and celebrated movie is “The Lion King.” It’s a film that is nearly universally known and beloved. I mean, who doesn’t love Simba, Timon and Pumbaa, and hearing “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King" and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”?

In a clip posted on YouTube, Josh Groban performs one of those two tunes: “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” With Josh’s powerful, soaring, unique, distinctive and unmistakable voice, it’s a perfect combination. One listen to this jaw-dropping cover, and you’ll be left asking why didn’t this happen sooner? What took so long for this rendition to become a thing?

Not to take away from Elton John’s original, which will always be the one people think of when they think of “Can You Think of the Love Tonight,” but I would argue that this rendition tops that one and does so by a wide margin. Others will have different opinions, but that’s just how I feel about Josh’s version.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

This 'Livin' On A Prayer' Cover is a Must-Listen

Sometimes a song doesn’t just play in the background of our lives—it becomes part of our story. For many of us who grew up in the late 80s and early 90s, this Bon Jovi ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ cover is a must-listen! The opening guitar riff alone could make your heart race before the first lyric even hits. Now the talented cover band First to Eleven is giving the classic hit a fresh new spin, and it’s just as energizing as ever.

Based out of Erie, Pennsylvania, First to Eleven has been turning beloved songs into high-energy covers since 2009. Their style blends heavy guitar riffs, powerful drums, and fun melodies, often adding creative twists that make familiar songs feel brand new. Their catalogue of covers continues to grow, and their experience both in the studio and on stage shines through every performance. When they take on ‘Livin’ on a Prayer,’ it’s impossible not to sing along.

The Lyrics For Bon Jovi’s ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ Cover Are a Mix of Hope, Grit, and Determination

The lyrics hit that perfect mix of hope, grit, and determination: “We’ve gotta hold on to what we’ve got. It doesn’t make a difference if we make it or not. We’ve got each other and that’s a lot for love. We’ll give it a shot.” And then comes the chorus everyone knows by heart: “Whoa, we’re halfway there. Whoa-oh, livin’ on a prayer. Take my hand, we’ll make it I swear. Whoa-oh, livin’ on a prayer.”

Released in 1986, the song quickly became a global anthem. Written by Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, and Desmond Child, it soared to No. 1 on the Billboard charts and remains one of the most recognizable rock songs ever recorded. Decades later, it still resonates, with millions of copies sold worldwide and generations of fans continuing to sing along.

But for some of us, the memories tied to the song go even deeper. I remember being a young teenager convinced I was a little bit of a rebel. I’d sneak under the covers at night with my CD Player, headphones tucked carefully in place, listening to ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ on repeat while hoping my mom wouldn’t catch me. My renegade heart was beating fast—part excitement, part nerves.

This Song Reminds Us to Keep Going

These days, life looks a little different. Now I’m a woman in my 40s who mostly listens to the song when I need a little extra umph—like during a workout or while deep-cleaning the house. And honestly? In those moments, it feels more relatable than ever. Because sometimes life really does feel like we’re just… living on a prayer.

Maybe that’s part of what makes the song so powerful. It reminds us to keep going, to hold on, and to believe the story isn’t over yet. And thanks to First to Eleven, a whole new generation might discover the magic of this iconic anthem.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6

'I Surrender All' Beautiful Fingerstyle Guitar Instrumental

Listen to this beautiful instrumental guitar cover of the hymn ‘I Surrender All.’ The talented musician in the video is 19-year-old guitarist Titus Major. What a stunning rendition of this beloved hymn and a reminder to listeners of the true peace that comes from knowing Jesus.

‘All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give
I will ever love and trust Him, in His presence daily live
I surrender all, I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Savior, I surrender all’

The music video from this rendition of ‘I Surrender All’ shows Titus playing his instrument outside, with close-up shots of his fingers gliding along the guitar. The music sounds so peaceful and is so uplifting to listen to. Many people online praised Titus for his musical gifts.

“It's wonderful to hear you praising God through the guitar. May God continue to bless you, Titus,” comments one person online after watching the video.

“I really like the special touches you put in this one. Great videography as well. A good moment of reflective worship. Thanks, Titus!” writes another person.

As for the hymn ‘I Surrender All,’ the author of the song was Judson Van DeVenter. He was an accomplished musician and worked as an art teacher. Van DeVenter was also an active member in his church and involved in evangelistic meetings.

The lyrics of the hymn were written by Van DeVenter around 1890. He wrote the hymn after a five-year internal struggle between his passion for art and a calling into ministry. The song represents the moment he finally submitted to God's purpose. The words of the hymn were later put to music by Winfield S. Weeden and published in 1896.

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this wonderful rendition of ‘I Surrender All’ today!

Life In 3D Dazzling Cover of The Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’

Check out this dazzling cover of The Beatles’ song ‘Let It Be’ performed by the group Life in 3D. The singers in the video are siblings named Daylon and Daura, and they have such amazing voices that blend so well together. What a wonderful thing it is to see these two use their God-given talents to bring hope and encouragement to others through song.

‘When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be’

What a wonderful music video and performance! Daylon and Daura are from Tempe, AZ, and in this music video, you can see the stunning Arizona landscape in the background. While they are singing, you can hear how beautifully their harmonies blend, and it is clear that these siblings love making music together.

“Even though it helped usher in a new musical decade, this song actually arrived during the closing chapter of the Beatles' career,” writes Life in 3D in the caption of their YouTube video. “The song recounts a time Paul McCartney's late mother appeared to him in a dream, giving comfort and encouragement for times ahead.”

In the background of Life in 3D, the siblings share on their website how their group came to be and how their parents encouraged them to use their voices to help others.

“We got our first microphone in December 2021,” they share. “With no experience, we learned how to arrange three-part harmony and use a camera to record our cover songs.  Everything was homemade…but what started as just music for family and friends soon grew to an audience of over 1 million followers. We never dreamed our music would be loved by so many, and it’s been incredible to become part of a community that’s connected through the gift of music. So life together became music. It became more than just our harmonies. It encompassed the way we interacted with each other– the way we laughed, argued, and even cleaned the kitchen together. It seemed as if our relationship deepened our experiences into a rich and vibrant lifestyle. A life in 3D.”

We hope that you enjoyed watching Life in 3D perform ‘Let It Be’ today!

Moses G. Earns His Spot on The Voice with 'Forever Young'

Sometimes a voice carries more than a melody—it carries a story. For someone like Moses G, it can help earn you a spot on The Voice in 2026 with epic songs like ‘Forever Young.’ When Moses stepped onto the stage for his blind audition, he didn’t just sing. He brought a quiet strength to Rod Stewart’s beloved song ‘Forever Young’ that immediately caught the attention of the judges and audience alike. His voice held that gritty, soulful edge that makes you lean in a little closer, the kind of sound that feels both powerful and deeply personal.

One of the most touching moments didn’t happen under the stage lights. It happened in the interview portion of the video, where Moses sat beside his mother. From her wheelchair, she reached out and gently held his hand—an ordinary gesture that carried extraordinary love. Looking at her son with pride, she told him something that felt both tender and prophetic: he was her Moses, and he was born to lead.

Forever Young Was One of Rod Stewart’s Most Beloved Songs

The moment felt almost symbolic. Just like the biblical Moses, whose life carried purpose long before he fully understood it, this young singer stood on the edge of something bigger than himself. His mother’s words weren’t just encouragement; they sounded like a blessing spoken over a son stepping into his calling.

And maybe that’s because the song itself carries such a powerful heart behind it. Released in 1988 on Stewart’s album Out of Order, ‘Forever Young’ quickly became one of the singer’s most beloved songs, climbing to No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 9 on the Canadian charts. Stewart wrote it with bandmates Jim Cregan and Kevin Savigar, and he later shared that it was deeply personal. The song was inspired by his children after he realized he had missed years of their lives while touring. Wanting to be more present as a father, he wrote the song as a kind of blessing over them.

You can feel that blessing in the lyrics themselves:

“May the good Lord be with you down every road you roam,
And may sunshine and happiness surround you when you're far from home.
May you grow to be proud, dignified and true,
And do unto others as you’d have done to you.”

Moses G. Did an Amazing Job on The Voice in 2026

And as Moses sang “Forever Young,” the lyrics seemed to echo that hope—about courage, about staying strong, about living a life that leaves a mark. His voice carried both grit and vulnerability, but it was that quiet scene with his mother that made the performance unforgettable. You couldn’t help but hum along with him and find yourself smiling at the same time.

Because sometimes the most powerful thing in a young person’s life is a parent who believes in them. It looks like a hand reaching out. A voice saying, You were born for this. And in that moment, it felt like everyone watching was witnessing more than a blind audition—they were watching the beginning of a journey. It was incredible!

1 Peter 4:10 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

This Street Performer’s 'Landslide' Cover Is a Must-Listen

This street performer’s cover of “Landslide” is a must-listen. Her excellent rendition of the beloved Fleetwood Mac classic is one you’ll likely find yourself returning to again and again. Watch the short but delightful clip to listen to her jaw-dropping performance of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.”

The entertainment business is not an easy field to break into. It’s highly competitive and cutthroat, as evidenced by shows like American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The Voice. Look at all the people who audition for those shows, and, at the end, only one person each season wins the top prize.

So, understanding this, many will take different routes and adopt less conventional ways to try to gain attention. For instance, musicians often play on the street, hoping to draw crowds and pique the interest of the many people who walk by. Of course, this all depends on whether they have the kind of musical talent that stops people in their tracks and gets them to take notice. Again, it’s one of the many ways of attempting to build an audience and a following.

In a clip posted on YouTube, one young woman performed on the street for all to hear.  But she wasn’t just singing any old song; she was performing one of the biggest, most recognizable tunes of all time: “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac. And to be honest, she knocked it out of the park. Her voice is absolutely beautiful, with its unique, distinctive quality giving the song an Irish sound and feel.

It's unbelievable how anyone could have simply walked on by when she was standing on the side of the street singing. Her voice sounds like someone who could go into the studio and make an Irish/folk record right now. Her voice is unbelievably good, and it’s hard, nearly impossible, to argue otherwise.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Young Violinist Takes on Iconic Classics From Elvis and ABBA

Check out this talented young violinist's take on two iconic classics by Elvis and ABBA. The violin player is Avelina Kushnir. The first song she performs is ‘Fernando’ by ABBA which came out in 1976, and she follows that one up with ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ by Elvis, which was released in 1961.

The song ‘Fernando’ was first recorded in Swedish and was a simple love song about comforting a heartbroken friend. ABBA then re-recorded it in English, and that version became one of the best-selling singles of all time, with over 10 million physical copies sold.

Can’t Help Falling in Love By Elvis Presley is a Top Romantic Hit

As for ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love,’ that song was recorded by Elvis Presley for the film Blue Hawaii. It became a signature romantic hit, closing most of Elvis's 1970s concerts.

Avelina put on a spectacular performance with both of these iconic songs, with her mother accompanying her on the keyboard. The music captivated onlookers as they passed Avelina by on the street, and many people stopped to really take in and appreciate the show. People online also shared how impressed they were with her musical talents.

“Honestly, who could possibly help but fall in love with this absolutely beautiful rendition of this classic Elvis song by Avelina and her Mom,” comments one person after watching the video.

“Such a beautiful and heartfelt performance — it truly touches the heart. Keep shining and sharing your amazing talent,” writes another person.

Avenlina is a talented teenager who plays the violin, saxophone, and guitar. She loves playing music and hopes to use her talent to make the world a better place.

We hope that you enjoyed watching this violin performance from Avelina Kushnir of ‘Fernando’ and ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love.’ Let the beautiful music bring you some joy today!

American Idol Contestant Wows with Aretha Franklin's 'Natural Woman'

This American Idol contestant wows with Aretha Franklin's “Natural Woman.” It sounds completely organic coming from talented young artist, Rae. Play the video to hear her beautiful voice.

Rae can absolutely sing. She demonstrates that to the fullest in her "Natural Woman" American Idol cover. She completely impresses the judges with her strong and powerful vibrato. And even though I’m watching her through a screen, I don’t have to be there to know that her voice fills the whole room.

I’m certain Aretha Franklin would feel proud to hear this beautiful young woman’s cover of her song. Some of the lyrics of Aretha’s “Natural Woman” are:

Now I'm no longer doubtful of what I'm living for
And if I make you happy, I don't need to do more
'Cause you make me feel, you make me feel
You make me feel like a natural woman (Woman)

“Natural Woman” was co-written by Carole King and her husband Gerry Goffin in 1967. It was always created with Aretha in mind to sing. It was one of Aretha’s greatest songs, and it hit No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart that year. Producer Jerry Wexler was the one who presented the song to Aretha.

Aretha recalled, “When we would record, when we would think we would have something really hot that evening, after we’d been in the studio maybe four or five hours, he would say, ‘Wait until tomorrow and let’s see what we think about it tomorrow. If it stands up tomorrow, we’ve got a hit.’ I said, ‘Jerry, this song has been standing up.’”

Even half a century after the song came out, people still love it. It’s wonderful that a young person like Rae would choose to cover it. Her "Natural Woman" American Idol cover is certainly one to remember.

Switchfoot’s Cover of Ben Rector's 'Brand New' is a Must-Listen

Switchfoot’s cover of Ben Rector’s “Brand New” is a must-listen. This terrific rendition of the incredibly popular and beloved tune is one that you’ll find yourself returning to again and again. Watch the short but delightful clip to see and listen to Switchfoot perform Ben Rector’s “Brand New.”

Covers are an age-old tradition, a norm that has likely been around as long as music has existed. It’s a practice that nearly every musician and band does at some point during their career, often something they do semi-frequently. Also, the contestants on shows like America’s Got Talent, The Voice and American Idol are quite fond of covers. Nearly every musical performance on those popular programs is one.

However, if you are going to do a cover, don’t simply do a duplicate, a carbon copy of the original. Change it in some way or form. People want to hear something different. Who doesn’t want to hear someone else’s interpretation of a classic song every now and then?  If that doesn’t happen, listeners will simply tune that version out and listen to the original.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Switchfoot, an incredibly popular band best known for their 2003 hit “Meant to Live,” showed they aren’t above doing covers either. They performed “Brand New,” the 2015 Ben Rector tune.

Switchfoot’s stripped-down version of “Brand New” is an immensely enjoyable listen. Their take on the song gives it a completely different sound and feel. However, much like the original, this one is still something that is bound to get you singing along and tapping your foot.

It's impossible to listen to this song – Switchfoot’s cover or Ben Rector’s original – and not feel better afterward. It’s one of those tunes that if you hear once, you’ll be humming and singing it the rest of the day. It’s that infectious, and if you aren’t familiar with the original version, I suggest you give it a listen or two or three, similar to Switchfoot's cover.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

The '80s Classic 'Forever Young' Gets Stunning New Cover

Check out this stunning cover of the ‘80s classic ‘Forever Young.’ The group performing in the video is IMY2, an independent rock band formed in 2019. The talented group is currently based in Nashville, TN, and the members include Annalise Mahanes, Cal Tucker, and Michael Monahan.

‘Let's dance in style, let's dance for a while
Heaven can wait, we're only watching the skies
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst
Are you gonna drop the bomb or not?’

What an incredible rendition of this classic ‘80s song by the band Alphaville. ‘Forever Young’ was originally released in September 1984 as the third single from Alphaville’s debut album.
The song was successful in Scandinavia and in the European German-speaking countries in 1984. Then in 1988, the song peaked at number 63 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.

‘Forever Young’ was originally intended to be an upbeat dance song, but producer Andreas Budde recommended pairing the song down to a sparse synth-pop ballad. Once Alphaville stripped away most of the tracks and left only the vocals and synth, they came to the final song which we know and love today.

As for the group IMY2, they are well-known for their YouTube channel, where they share both original music and high-quality covers of classic rock and pop songs. They did a fantastic job with their cover of ‘Forever Young,’ and many people online have shared their praise for the group’s music.

“Annalise, Mike, and Cal provide us with another taste of their magic. Thank you IMY2 for one more outstanding performance,” comments one person online after watching the video.

“That sent shivers down my spine and then Mike's guitar gave me goose bumps. Lovely version,” writes another person.

We hope you enjoyed listening to this wonderful rendition from IMY2 of ‘Forever Young’ today!

Awe-Inspiring Duet Cover of ‘You Are the Sunshine of My Life’

UK Street performers Leire and Atticus Blue amaze in their newest cover. Their awe-inspiring duet cover of “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” has passersby captivated. Give it a listen to fall into the sweet melody.

The two singers sound marvelous together. They have got tons of style and personality, and you can hear their passion for the song in their voices. They bring a little bit of majesty and magic to their cobblestoned street.

They completely make the Stevie Wonder classic their own, as well. They’ve got a knack for drawing people in.

Lyrics to “You Are the Sunshine of My Life”:

Ohh, you are the sunshine of my life, yeah
That's why I'll always stay around – mm-mmm, yeah-yeah
You are the apple of my eye (Love has joined us...)
Forever, you'll stay in my heart (Let's love sweet love)

The 1973 song was Stevie’s third No.1 hit in the US. It also won Stevie the 1973 Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

He wrote the song about his wife, Syreeta Wright. It was impromptu, and once he and his band joined in, Stevie said they would record it that day. He knew from the start it was special.

Leire and Atticus are smart to sing the song together, as it is an incredibly romantic song that people associate with love and couples. Their voices blend effortlessly when they harmonize. Leire’s strength and depth perfectly balance Atticus’ light and weavy voice.

Strangers stop in their tracks to see and hear them perform, and I would too. There’s a palpable intimacy in their performance that invites people in. It’s intriguing.

Once you hear them together, it turns a common moment into something memorable, and there’s a kind of power in that. It is practically unforgettable.

This Fantastic Cover of 'September' Is a Toe-Tapping Good Time

This fantastic cover of “September” is a toe-tapping good time, for sure. From the vocals to the sax and other instruments, it’s an incredibly lively cover. Play the video to dance along!

The lead for this Sing it Live cover, Darren Mullen, has a wonderful voice that matches Earth, Wind & Fire's. It’s wonderful to see everyone in the Australian band putting their all into their performance, too. They’ve got a base, drums, keyboard, electric guitar, trumpet, saxophone, and three people on vocals.

The backup singers even have some choreography going on in the background as they sing. Everyone’s got a smile on their face, and you can tell that they all love performing.

Some of Earth, Wind, and Fire’s “September” Lyrics are:

Do you remember
The twenty-first night of September?
Love was changin' the minds of pretenders
While chasin' the clouds away

It’s such a fun song that everyone knows. It was created out of pure creativity and joy.

Earth, Wind, and Fire’s Al McKay recalled the day he came up with the beat: “It was one of those mornings. I came downstairs feeling really good. (I) went to my studio, set up a groove, and it just came piece by piece by piece.”

“I brought it to Maurice [White], and he liked it right away. Then he said, ‘Play it again.’ And I kept playing it for him. The last time, he looked at me and he sang, ‘Do you remember …’”

September Was Inducted into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress

In 2020, the song was inducted into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress. It was made an aural treasure because of its cultural, historic and aesthetic importance to America’s musical heritage.

The song has made history for making magic out of the month of September, and it’s hard not to love the song after you’ve heard it once. Sing it Live has yet again chosen another stellar song to cover.

Soulful Rendition of Elton John Classic Wows Judges on The Voice

A soulful rendition of an Elton John classic wowed the judges on The Voice. This young man’s performance of a beloved tune left the judges stunned and battling one another to add him to their team. Watch the short but delightful clip to hear the talented young musician’s rendition of Elton John’s “Bennie and the Jets.”

Everyone wants to be a musician, a singer, up on stage playing in front of and entertaining a roaring, cheering crowd of adoring fans. Of course, while that may be the dream for many, not everyone has the talent to make that a reality. Shows like American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The Voice make that abundantly clear. Some get through the audition phase, but many more do not and are sent home empty-handed.

However, while talent is most definitely a prerequisite for making it past the audition stage, those aspiring musicians must have something more. There has to be something present, something they have or do that sets them apart from the rest of the crowd. Oftentimes, that something different is how they perform and change up a timeless tune, a song that everyone knows and loves. That is precisely what happened in the case of one young man who appeared on The Voice.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Lucas West went on The Voice and performed Elton John’s 1973 hit “Bennie and the Jets.” But instead of doing a simple cover, a boring, carbon copy replica of the original, he did something entirely different.

He took the familiar tune into a jazzy direction. It was still the same song, but with a slightly different sound, and it paid off greatly for him. Moments into his performance, Adam Levine and John Legend flipped their chairs around for the young man.

Adam and John went back and forth, stating why they would be the best coach for him. Eventually, the 20-year-old selected John Legend as his coach.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

The Chorus Sings:

Once I get you up there where the air is so rarified
We gonna glide absolutely starry eyed
Once I get you up there I'll be holding you so very near
You might even hear again the angels cheer because we're together

When we ponder flying and the journey, it can remind us that God takes us to places that we would have never imagined He would. We can always dream with Him.

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
