Wasn't I Born Again?

Amongst Christians, the hardest person to forgive, is usually yourself. My favorite pastor Wayne Brown once told me, after I was questioning my being genuinely saved, he said... " What, you don't think the first time took?"

No Greater Love By Mark R. Spencer

This song is about the last day of Christ's ministry, and His life. It's about what He suffered, and what He gave ... for you ... and for me.

No More Tears In Heaven By Mark R. Spencer (in Memory Of My Friend Suicide Tom Watkins)

This song was years in the making. Thomas Roy "Suicide Tom" Watkins died from Congestive Heart Failure in the early morning hours of April 1, 2003, just 6 days shy of his 45th birthday. He lived in Watsonville, California, and I lived in Capitola. I ran a karaoke show around Santa Cruz County, and Tom set up the shows for me. He got his nickname by letting the karaoke DJs pick his songs. He did songs like “Barbie Girl” and “Man I Feel Like A Woman”, and people loved it. Imagine hearing the man in the image on the screen singing “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”. He brought life to every show. And then, he got sick. I wasn’t familiar with the symptoms of Congestive Heart Failure back then, but I knew he wasn’t simply suffering from a flu. So On March 21, 2003, a buddy and I took Tom to the ER at Dominican Hospital. The doctor had an x-ray and EKG done, and told Tom his heart was enlarged. Tom told him that enlarged hearts ran in his family. I now know that Congestive Heart Failure can be diagnosed with x-rays and EKGs, because my mother had it, and as her care giver, I was with her when they told her about that, and about her A Fib, and Coronary Artery Disease. But Tom’s doctor said nothing about Congestive Heart Failure. He stuck to the enlarged heart narrative - which was deceptive, since the autopsy showed that his heart was two and a half times the size of a normal heart. But then, Tom didn’t have insurance; so he was turned away in his hour of need. Ten days later, he was dead, and he didn’t have to be. He could have been saved, if only for a short time. And this was a Catholic hospital letting that man go to his death. Of course, the doctor may not have shared that ideology. Either way, even though they swept it under the carpet, and never answered for this crime, they still have to face the ultimate judge. They can’t hide from Him.

On Heaven's Wings - By Mark R. Spencer

Through the power of God, anything is possible. You only need faith to rise above this earthly chaos, and touch grace.

Junk - By Mark R. Spencer

I wrote this song for the young women (and men) that I've known throughout my life, who felt like they didn't matter, that they had no purpose. Not all of them survived their depression. Some have left this world, but some are still with us, having had their own "come to Jesus" moments, as I did. Having been on the edge myself, wondering if the cliff was high enough to end my suffering, or low enough to cause more, I know how it feels to see yourself as invisible and purposeless. God took that away from me, and gave me a reason to believe in Him, and in myself.

Book of Psalms Back to Songs: Psalm 22 - Why So Far

Psalm 22 trembles with raw anguish and a piercing sense of abandonment, giving voice to deep suffering without disguise. Yet beneath the ache runs a stubborn thread of trust, rising toward hope and future praise even in the shadow of despair. As with all of these songs, we tried to make the music style match how the verses felt they may be delivered. We like how this turned out. The "Book of Psalms: Back to Songs" project is a creative endeavor to restore the original spirit of the #psalms - as songs of worship, lament, praise, and reflection-by transforming them back into musical form, as many were written. Drawing from modern translations of the classic biblical texts, this project reimagines the Psalms with fresh musical arrangements that blend timeless messages with modern sounds. Each Psalm is thoughtfully adapted into lyrical and melodic compositions, many using modern tools, to explore harmonies, instrumentation, and genre-blending arrangements. From soulful acoustic ballads and rock/pop hymns to country pieces and R&B-inspired tunes, the project seeks to make the Psalms accessible and resonate with today’s listeners, while staying true to their emotional and spiritual depth. I DON'T WANT IT NO MORE

This sound was born from a real moment of release. There comes a time when God doesn’t just ask us to fight harder — He changes our heart. This song is about that moment when the desire for old cycles, old pain, and old patterns simply falls away. Not by force, but by grace. “I Just Don’t Want It No More” is a testimony in music. It speaks to anyone who has felt trapped in routines that hurt them, anyone who has cried in secret, and anyone longing for real change. Through this sound, I’m sharing the moment I realized that something inside me had shifted — and it was the Lord who did it. If you’re listening and believing for freedom in your own life, let this be an encouragement: transformation is possible. God can change not only your circumstances, but your desires. What once held you does not have to define you. May this sound remind you that doors God closes stay closed for your protection, and the new life He opens is filled with peace, clarity, and hope. Thank you for listening and sharing this journey of healing and renewal. Come on Glory.

The tone of this chapter really required a harder music style and I really like how it turned out. lyrics: [Verse 1] You, Lord God, are my protector. Rescue me and keep me safe from all who chase me. Or else they will rip me apart like lions attacking a victim, and no one will save me. [Verse 2] I am innocent, Lord God! I have not betrayed a friend or had pity on an enemy who attacks for no reason. If I have done any of this, then let my enemies chase and capture me. Let them trample me to death and leave me in the dirt. [Bridge] Get angry, Lord God! Do something! Attack my furious enemies. See that justice is done. Make the nations come to you, as you sit on your throne above them all. [Chorus] I will praise you, Lord! You always do right. I will sing about you, the Lord Most High. [Verse 3] Our Lord, judge the nations! Judge me and show that I am honest and innocent. You know every heart and mind, and you always do right. Now make violent people stop, but protect all of us who obey you. [Verse 4] You, God, are my shield, the protector of everyone whose heart is right. You see that justice is done, and each day you take revenge. Whenever your enemies refuse to change their ways, you sharpen your sword and string your bow. Your deadly arrows are ready with flaming tips. [Bass Drop] An evil person is like a woman about to give birth to a hateful, deceitful, and rebellious child. Such people dig a deep hole, then fall in it themselves. The trouble they cause comes back on them, and their heads are crushed by their own evil deeds. [Chorus] I will praise you, Lord! You always do right. I will sing about you, the Lord Most High. [Guitar Solo Interlude] [Bridge] Get angry, Lord God! Do something! Attack my furious enemies. See that justice is done. Make the nations come to you, as you sit on your throne above them all. [Chorus] I will praise you, Lord! You always do right. I will sing about you, the Lord Most High. ---- notes: Words updated for song lyrics style: A high-energy worship rock anthem with bright electric guitars, rhythmic acoustic strumming, punchy drums, and uplifting synth pads

Freedom-It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Galatians 5:1

I received a scripture on the early morning of January 2nd. Isaiah 21. When I read it, I realised that this was a prophetic word for 2026. FREEDOM! Worship Song “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” — Galatians 5:1 This song is a declaration of freedom in Christ. Through Yeshua, we are no longer bound by religion, the law of sin and death, or the weight of striving. Jesus has set us free—free to walk in His Spirit, free to stand firm, and free to live as sons and daughters of God. Let this song remind you to walk in the freedom that Christ has already given, to stand firm in grace, and to rejoice in the liberty we have in Him. 🎶 “It was for freedom that Christ has set us free… walk in His freedom.” May this worship stir faith, bring joy, and strengthen you to live unburdened and unashamed in the freedom of Christ. Scripture Inspiration: Galatians 5:1 Key Themes: Freedom in Christ • Grace over religion • Standing firm • Life in the Spirit If this song blesses you, feel free to like, share, and subscribe. Let’s walk in freedom together.

The Race - By Mark R. Spencer

This song focuses on those of us who seek Heaven as our finish line. If we cross that line, in pursuit of the Salvation of Jesus, everybody wins the race. It's only when we seek earthly prizes that we lose.

Blind Faith - By Mark R. Spencer

This song is about a question that was posed to me shortly after my near death experience in 1992. An acquaintance of mine came to me asking if I could give him an example of faith. The song touches on that example. It's about a man walking a well kept road with no stumbling blocks. But, on one side of the road is the biblical abyss, and on the other is hell. I'm seeing this in my head as I tell him the story. I see the light dim, until it becomes pitch black, and then I asked him what he thought the man would do. Immediately, he said: "He falls to his knees and prays" …which sounded logical to me. But in my mind, I saw the light return, and the man was still walking. And then my perspective began to change, as I moved down and in front of the man. As I did, I told my friend what I was seeing. I was in front of the walking man, and could see his face. His eyes were completely white. The darkness never affected him, because he couldn't see it. Nor could he see the light. He had always walked in faith, and never needed to pray anything other than “Thank you Father, for guiding my steps”.

The Word Of The Lord - By Mark R Spencer

Nothing can defeat the Word Of The Lord! God is truth, and, like God, truth is absolute. It's what IS. Our truth is grounded in earthly desires, pride, greed, narcissism, and so on (If we believe it, it must be true). THE truth is grounded in what is, whether we believe it or not. And if you could ask truth it's name, the reply you'd receive would likely be: "I AM, that I AM".
