Originally recorded in 1986, my Grandmother, Lela Ethel Burgess-Nalley, had died a few years before. If you notice, my copyright is 1974. I wrote this song 10+ years prior to Grandma's death. The inspiration was Grandma telling me when she was in the room when 'her' mother died...hearing her mother's last words... 'God Bless you...meet me in heaven'. [As accounted in my book, 'Raised-Up Hard in the Georgia Pines'...available online and ebooks]. The testimony of my Great-Grandmother to my Grandma made a deep impression on me. Then, when it was Grandma's time to die, I was the only one with her as she 'passed on'. I knew, because of her profession of faith in Jesus, and because her life bore 'fruit' as she lived for Christ... I knew, she 'Would Be Home in the Mornin'!
The difference between a person's bad or good intentions, comes down to one word... 'Motive'. Do we have physical and material needs in this life? Yes! But, regarding life-choices and 'life-after-death', we need Jesus. Originally recorded in 1986 at Hilltop Studios in Nashville, this is one of the songs on my '30th Anniversary Album...I Want Us To Be Together In Heaven'. A simple song with a 'life-challenging' message. Are you seeking success, fame, and fortune, guided by the One who owns it all? And if you succeed in all these areas, can you pass the 'motive' test? 'That' test can keep us all grounded and with the right focus...because... 'All We Need Is Jesus'!

In life, we have our 'down days' and, occasionally, days of great joy. I was having one of those 'joy days' when I wrote 'With Jesus In Me I've Sweet Victory'. I guess it was kind'a like Mohammed Ali felt when he would shout 'I'm king of the world'. Or, maybe the feeling of leaning on the forward bow of the Titanic. As Believers, some days we just have to focus on our 'invincibility', through Jesus...like scriptures-- 'we are joint heirs with Christ'-- 'if God be for us, who can be against us', etc. Yes, we are frail in the flesh...but, someday 'this mortal will put on immortality'. I pray you will 'feel' the 'Victory' we have IN Jesus!
Spiritual strength increases with the right nourishment, just like the body's strength increases with the right nourishment. And 'Believer's' Strength comes from The Lord...through reading The Word, Prayer, and 'Sound' Teaching and Preaching. At some of our weakest times, when we raised our hearts through prayer to God, HE will sustain us! This song was recorded at Hilltop Studios in Nashville in the 80's and compiled on my album in 2003 by SonSound Studios. If you are a country fan, you may recognize the background music which was played by the original 'Alabama' Studio Musicians.
The time for prayer is now. The time for concern for those who are planning to 'repent' and 'believe' in the future, is now. To most people, satan does not say 'the Bible is not the true Word of God'...or... 'you don't have to receive Jesus Christ as Savior to go to heaven when you die'. BUT, what satan DOES do is make everyone 'content' in their present state, AND, tell them... 'don't worry...you've got plenty of time'!. Plenty of time to 'get right with God'...plenty of time to 'prepare to die'. But as scripture teaches... 'don't boast yourself of tomorrow'. Will you risk missing heaven [for eternity], for a few years of pleasure? A 'life-change' starts with a 'heart-change'. '...believe ON--(the devil believes IN Jesus) the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved [from the penalty of sin]'. God Have Mercy...on us all.
Sitting in a subdivision...waiting on people to arrive to view the new homes...during some quiet time, I wrote this song. Challenges are a part of life. Concern for the future is a natural thing. But...I was happy in knowing that when this life is over, I knew where I was going. Not because I'm good or did good works...but because Jesus paid the price for my sin and I trusted Him as My Savior...I received the gift of Salvation...results... I'm Saved!
