As they wandered around in the wilderness, God had the Israelites on a very restricted diet. Today, of course, we are under no such dietary restrictions in the new covenant. It appears that as long as it doesn't cause another person to stumble—eat it! But is it that simple?

In recent years, the world has put a lot of emphasis on things like Santa Claus, elves, and the latest and greatest toys. While there’s nothing wrong with these things, that’s not what Christmas is really about. 2,000 years ago, a little baby was laid in a manger in Bethlehem. Angels sang to shepherds in the fields of these wondrous events, and three wise men carried gifts to hail the newborn king. And one day, this little baby would carry upon his shoulders the sins of the world, and die on a wooden cross so that we “should not perish, but have everlasting life¹.” And that is what Christmas is really about. So this Christmas, have fun, but don’t forget what brought Christmas to be. God bless, and merry Christmas.

By Igniter Media We teamed up again with our friends Folk Angel (the musicians who created the track used in Social Network Christmas) for this fun take on the classic Christmas hymn. It's great as a service walk-in song or performance piece.
A little over 2,000 years ago, God's people were in the midst of centuries of silence. But God was at work, and He was about to show Himself in a most unexpected way.
